Purpose
The purpose of the Redmond COAD is to advocate for and promote a coordinated
countywide disaster preparedness planning initiative that aims to
integrate human services agencies and faith-based organizations
into the county’s disaster preparedness system. The initial focus of the
committee is to support the design and adoption of standardized disaster
plans that ensure common response goals and written coordination and
communication procedures, linking those agencies to the city and
county's Comprehensive Emergency Management Plan.
The Redmond COAD ensures that the community has a
better
understanding of the organization including its various strike teams and
assisting with the local media.

"We, the Redmond COAD, represent all six sectors of the Greater
Redmond community (government,
businesses, schools, neighborhoods, non-profits and faith) and
exist to help organize & deploy resources in an effective and timely
manner in response to the unmet people-needs during the recovery
phase following a disaster.
Simply
stated we are a “match-maker”.
We connect those in need with those with available
resources."
